About Us
Founded in February of 2009, the Grand Rapids chapter of Queen for a Day was established to serve the girls and young women of Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. The philosophy of our organization is simple -- to let girls be girls! We accomplish this by hosting on-site parties for patients, where each girl is pampered with makeup and manicure services as well as a special crowning ceremony and tiara, donated and presented by a local pageant titleholder. Parties also include playing dress-up and completing craft projects and photo frames for holding the commemorative photo taken during each crowning moment.
Each party may last only a few hours, but the memories last much longer. Girls have the opportunity to make new friends
and share their crowning
moment experiences
together, boosting self-
confidence by reminding
each girl that she is brave,
beautiful, and a true "queen"
in the eyes of others.
Girls just want to have fun,
and that's exactly what we do.
